Quality Control Engineering Technician to manage Yubico’s extensive Production Hardware from all aspects of product and process quality. The ideal candidate will have experience owning and leading the technical Quality role. Local to Santa Clara, CA.
Tasks & Responsibilities- Design and create test plans, processes and equipment for hardware products
- Perform product validation to ensure products meet specifications and quality standards; carry out functional, dimensional, and environmental tests
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams (design, development, manufacturing, customer support) to provide feedback on product design and processes
- Generate and maintain documentation related to hardware design, testing, and quality control
- Participate in design reviews and risk assessments to identify potential quality issues early
- Ensure products comply with regulatory requirements and industry best practices
- Monitor quality metrics, identify trends, and develop new metrics to drive continuous improvement
- Diploma or degree in Electronics, Mechanical, Electrical, or related engineering discipline
- Experience in hardware quality control/assurance, manufacturing quality, or related field in consumer electronics
- Experience with hardware design, testing, and manufacturing processes
- Proficiency with standard electrical testing equipment (calipers, oscilloscopes, multimeters, logic analyzers)
- Familiarity with standard communication protocols (SPI, I2C, USB)
- Ability to read hardware schematics, mechanical drawings and technical specifications
- Understanding of GD&T for mechanical designs
- Experience with test automation using scripting languages like Python
- Ability to analyze data, identify trends, and determine root causes
- Soldering skills
- Ability to build wiring harnesses
- Experience with industry standards (IPC-A-610, ISO 9001, AS9100)
$37 - $40 an hour
Notes on Compensation LocationRole is based in the San Francisco Bay Area. For roles in other locations, compensation is based on data from the Radford McLagan Compensation Database from Aon. Final compensation depends on job-related knowledge, skills and experience.
