THE POSITION
The Senior Electric Division Manager – T&D has primary accountability for leadership in the Transmission & Distribution division, overseeing repairs and maintenance of existing facilities and construction for new business. This role balances repairs and new projects, coordinates with crews with the help of the supervising Senior Line Foreman and Line Foremen, and manages the budget for repairs and construction. The role requires strong independent decision-making and rapid acclimation, with full support from an experienced team and comprehensive resources to ensure success from day one.
Key Accountabilities &
Qualifications:
- Manage the Transmission and Distribution Division, comprised of 35+ employees in the disciplines of T&D in both Above and Underground facilities, and associated activities.
- Experience managing highly functional employees belonging to IBEW Collective Bargaining Unit.
- In-depth knowledge of California General Order 95 (Overhead Electric Line Construction), California General Order 128 (Underground Electric Supply and Communication System Construction), and engineering involved in development, construction, production, and operations in interconnected utility areas (transmission, distribution, forecasting, planning, customer service, telecommunications, IT).
- Knowledge of compliance requirements in the T&D environment.
- Knowledge of Work Management and Prioritization principles.
- Knowledge and experience using an Enterprise Asset Management Program, Computerized Maintenance Management System, and/or Computerized Work Management System.
- Knowledge of maintenance principles/philosophies for T&D equipment and machinery, engineering economics, and management and personnel administration principles.
- Knowledge of Environmental Health and Safety rules and regulations applicable to T&D work.
- First-hand knowledge of Personal Protective Equipment used in T&D work.
- Ability to analyze complex data; resolve problems; prepare technical reports.
- Effectively negotiate contracts; manage long-term supplier and customer relations.

- Manage project development and operations management.
- Work successfully in a team environment.
- Communicate effectively in writing and orally.
- Work effectively and harmoniously with others in a team environment.
THE IDEAL CANDIDATE

Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Business, or a closely related field. Substitutions: 8 years of applicable electric utility experience may be substituted for the education requirement.
- Experience:
Working knowledge of Transmission & Distribution and six (6) years of experience at a responsible level in engineering, administration, marketing, rate setting, resource planning, power contracts, power trading, risk management, communications, information technology, power operations, or maintenance in the electric utility industry or related field. Substitutions:
An advanced degree in Engineering or a Business degree may be substituted for up to 2 years of the experience requirement. - Management
