Title: Product Safety Engineer

Location: Santa Clara, CA (commutable distance encouraged)

Employment Type: Full-time

Seniority Level: Associate

Pay Range: $100,000 – $125,000 per year, dependent on skills and experience.

• Apply IEC 62368-1 & IEC 61010-1 standards and related collateral to U.S., Canadian and international product safety requirements.
• Develop and execute test plans, perform testing, and fill Test Request Forms (TRF) under guidance from senior engineers.
• Read and determine applicability of national codes and standard clauses for the equipment under test (EUT).
• Conduct core tests including power input, leakage current, dielectric, temperature, stability, mechanical hazards, flammability, abnormal and single fault, IP testing, and other applicable tests.
• Read and understand schematics and manufacturing instructions.
• Identify and locate test instruments and equipment required for testing and project execution.
• Perform preliminary design reviews (PDR) as career progression allows.
• Communicate with customers and sales on project status.

• Minimum 3+ years product safety experience in testing, inspection and certification (or NRTL lab).
• IEC 60601-1 knowledge is a plus.
• Ability to travel up to 15% of the time, as business needs dictate.
• Valid U.S. driver’s license required.
• Authorization to work in the United States indefinitely without restriction or sponsorship.
