Amentum is looking for a Planning and Scheduling Analyst to join our Operations and Maintenance Team
.
The Planning & Scheduling Analyst supports project or operations/maintenance planning and scheduling activities, including engineering, preventative maintenance, work orders, materials management, construction, startup, and operations. This role uses project controls tools to proactively manage, control, and report on cost and schedule for concurrent projects across the organization. Knowledge of planning and scheduling concepts, principles, and financial impacts is required.

- Supports analysis of schedule and investigates project schedule variances.
- Collects, updates data, and produces scheduling reports.
- Supports basic schedule development and establishment of schedule baselines.
- Collects data for schedule updating and measures project schedule progress.
- Familiar with construction drawings, specifications, and contracting methods.
- Appreciates CPM scheduling concepts and can develop basic engineering, procurement, and construction logic.
- Understands scope control, change management, and earned value methodology.
- Prepares monthly reports and may participate in planning and scheduling meetings.
- Engages in other related duties as assigned.
- Successful candidates must pass a pre‑employment substance abuse test.
- A valid driver’s license may be required.
- No sponsorship for U.S. work authorization is provided.
- A security access badge will be required at the client’s location.
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering, construction, business, or a related field, or equivalent experience; at least four years of related experience.
- Experience in planning and scheduling for engineering, procurement, construction projects, or industrial facilities; some field experience is desired.
- Certification or pursuit of cost consulting, scheduling, or project management credentials (e.g., CCC, CCE, ICC, PSP, EVP, PMP, CAPM) is encouraged.
- Strong oral and written communication skills; proficiency with word processing, data analysis, and project software.
- Repetitive wrist movements; extensive walking; ladder and stair climbing.
- Flexibility to bend, stoop, squat, kneel, and reach.
- Color discrimination for wire color coding.
- Reading and interpreting varied documents and computer displays.
- Operating office equipment and computer systems.
- Participating in site meetings and occasional travel, including air travel.
- Communicating via telephone and in meetings.
- Fluency with Microsoft Office suite.
- Handling light to medium weight materials.
- Professional interaction with clients under stress.
- Wear steel‑toe safety shoes, safety glasses, gloves, and other PPE as required.
- Manage job‑related stressors to maintain performance.
- Familiarity with HVAC, plumbing, and electrical equipment.
- Experience in purchasing, subcontracting, or manufacturing maintenance.
- Experience with CMMS and storeroom operations.
- Expertise in inventory practice improvement and streamlining.
- Willingness to work overtime when required.
- Availability for holidays and weekends as needed.
