Part-Time Head Women's Badminton Coach, Associate Faculty; Pool

Position Summary

Part‑Time Head Women’s Badminton Coach, Associate Faculty (Pool) at Mission College, Santa Clara, CA. The role may include on‑line or distance education courses and is scheduled as needed during the Spring, Summer, and/or Fall semesters.

• Provide instruction for assigned courses, including preparation for in‑class or on‑line/distance education activities, evaluation of students’ work, and consultation with students outside of class.
• Maintain accurate class and other records required by the college and submit attendance rosters and grade reports when due.
• Follow course outlines as filed in the instruction offices and provide each student with a written course syllabus at the beginning of the course.
• Observe, support, and enforce the regulations, policies, and programs of the District and college.
• Refer students to appropriate college sources for counseling and other student services and assist students with advice on requirements for successful achievement in the area of expertise.
• Work cooperatively within the college community and foster a positive working environment free from harassment, prejudice, and bias.

• Education – Possess any one of the following:
  • Any bachelor’s degree or higher and two years of professional experience; or
  • Any associate degree and six years of professional experience; or
  • A valid California Community College Instructor’s Credential in the discipline; or
  • The equivalent.
• Understanding of, and sensitivity to, the diverse academic, socioeconomic, ethnic, religious, and cultural backgrounds, disability, and sexual orientation of community college students, faculty, and staff.

• Prior coaching experience.
