Overview
Join Chess Wizards, Inc as a Chess Instructor | Winter for an after‑school enrichment program that brings the magic of chess to elementary students.
ScheduleMonday‑Friday, 12:00 pm – 6:00 pm
Teach a minimum of 1 class and up to a maximum of 5 classes per week.
- Lead fun, interactive chess classes for 10–15 energetic elementary students.
- Use our structured curriculum to teach chess fundamentals and promote good sportsmanship.
- Manage a lively classroom with confidence and positivity.
- Encourage problem‑solving, creativity, and critical thinking.
- Follow school safety protocols, including supervision during arrival, dismissal, and in‑class activities.
- Travel to various local school sites for each session and arrive on time, prepared, and ready to engage students.
- Competitive Pay: $55–$75 per class (typical class ≈ 90 minutes including prep and post‑class work).

Hours:
Teach between 2:00 PM and 5:00 PM on weekdays. - Travel Compensation:
Mileage reimbursement for trips over 15 miles one way (30 miles round‑trip). - Full training, ongoing support, and curriculum materials.
- Free chess classes, opportunities for advancement, and a collaborative company culture.
- Experience working with groups of children (teaching, tutoring, coaching, camp counseling, or similar).
- Comfort leading a class independently and creating interactive, friendly, and fun sessions.
- Professional, positive, and kid‑friendly demeanor.
- Strong grasp of chess fundamentals and ability to explain concepts age‑appropriately.
- Ability to connect chess problem‑solving to real‑life problem‑solving.
- Reliable personal transportation and the ability to drive between locations.
- Availability on weekday afternoons within the 12:00 pm–6:00 pm window.
- Commitment to implementing school safety protocols and a strong record of reliability.
- Resume detailing relevant experience working with children.
- Questionnaire covering interest in the role, experience with children, and qualifications to teach chess.
Santa Clara, CA. Relocation assistance is not provided; candidates must currently reside in the area or be willing to relocate at their own expense.
