Purpose

The Department of Counseling Psychology in the School of Education & Counseling Psychology at Santa Clara University invites applicants for part‑time lecturer positions for 2025‑2026. The department has two programs, a Master of Arts in Counseling Psychology and a Master of Arts in Counseling.

Basic Qualifications
  • Graduate degree in Counseling or Clinical Psychology
Preferred Qualifications
  • Doctoral level and licensed candidates preferred.
Responsibilities Teaching
  • Teach no more than two courses per quarter, and no more than four courses over three academic quarters (fall, winter, spring).
  • Conduct and appear at all assigned class meetings in a timely and prepared manner that demonstrates a command of the discipline and skill in presenting it effectively.
  • Assign and evaluate assignments that align with the course description and course learning outcomes, and provide timely feedback to students.
  • Hold regular weekly office hours on campus.
  • Submit student grades that are appropriate, accurate and fair measures of student performance to the Office of the Registrar by the designated deadline.
  • Administer numerical and narrative evaluations for all courses.
  • Teach from an approved syllabus or work with the Chair to design an appropriate syllabus.
  • Fulfill other academic duties as may be assigned by the Chair of the Department of Counseling Psychology.
