The Line Cook presents an optimistic and unforgettably positive impression to our Members and Guests, exuding the genuine warmth of the Club by serving welcoming and efficient hospitality and providing a seamless dining experience at our restaurant/café. Responsible for preparing and cooking food items consistently and adhering to all quality and recipe standards, while maintaining the cleanliness and safety of all common areas and kitchen stations.

This position is compensated at $24/hr.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES
  • Maintain a professional, friendly, and courteous attitude toward guests, managers, and teammates
  • Arrive on time for scheduled shifts and breaks, in full uniform; follow all timekeeping procedures
  • Prepare and cook all menu items according to recipes, portion guidelines, and presentation standards set by the Executive Chef
  • Set up, maintain, and break down workstation daily; complete all opening/closing side work and cleaning tasks
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary kitchen line and storage areas; follow all food safety protocols
  • Monitor food quality and freshness; ensure proper storage, labeling, stock rotation, and temperature control
  • Assist with prep tasks such as chopping, mixing, baking, and roasting; support team during high-volume periods
  • Accommodate special dietary requests and allergy-sensitive dishes with care and accuracy
  • Taste, test, and adjust dishes as needed to ensure proper flavor and doneness
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by the Executive Chef or management
  • 3+ years cooking experience in a high-volume kitchen; fine dining or country club experience preferred.
  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Basic culinary training and knowledge of food safety and storage.
  • Serv Safe Food Handler certification required.
  • Able to stand for extended periods (8+ hours) and perform physical tasks: bending, lifting (50 lbs), reaching, etc.
  • Must be comfortable navigating a two-story kitchen and handling repetitive motions.
  • Flexible availability, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
  • Must meet grooming standards and work safely around hot surfaces, sharp tools, and loud or outdoor environments.
QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS
  • Strong verbal communication, organizational skills, and attention to detail
  • Ability to read, speak, and understand English; bilingual English/Spanish a plus
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced team environment
  • Able to read and follow food tickets, memos, instructions, and Club policies
  • Basic math skills for ingredient measurements and meal portioning
  • Strong problem-solving and guest service skills, including complaint resolution
  • Knowledge of basic food ingredients and large-scale kitchen equipment
  • Professional, courteous, and team-oriented demeanor
  • Interest in developing culinary skills under executive chef supervision
