Monday-Friday | 7:30 AM-4:00 PM
A growing manufacturing organization in Santa Barbara is seeking a Junior Buyer to support its procurement and materials operations. This role is ideal for someone who is detail‑oriented, organized, and comfortable working in a fast‑paced production environment. Candidates must have experience in purchasing within a manufacturing setting and a strong commitment to meeting internal timelines and quality expectations.
Responsibilities- Manage purchasing activities from initial request through delivery of materials, parts, and supplies
- Review requirements, specifications, and timelines to determine appropriate sourcing strategies
- Research, screen, and communicate with potential suppliers to confirm capability and compliance
- Gather and evaluate price quotes; recommend vendors based on quality, cost, and lead time
- Negotiate pricing, terms, and delivery schedules to support production needs
- Create and maintain purchase orders while ensuring compliance with internal procedures and regulations
- Monitor order status, shipment details, and documentation to ensure accurate and on‑time delivery
- Address supplier performance concerns and help resolve delivery, quality, or invoice issues
- Collaborate with Production, Quality, and Accounting departments to coordinate material flow
- Support invoice reconciliation and resolve discrepancies with vendors
- Assist with generating customer invoices and preparing shipment paperwork as needed
- At least 1 year of purchasing or procurement experience in a manufacturing environment
- Proficient in Microsoft Office; experience with ERP or purchasing software
- Strong communication, negotiation, and problem‑solving abilities
- High attention to detail with solid organizational and record‑keeping skills
- High School Diploma required; relevant college coursework or degree preferred
