Overview
The Electrician role at Dragon Q Energy is responsible for working with engineers on assembling, wiring, and testing electrical components and subsystems for our advanced battery energy storage systems, including the Power Pole™ and BEACON. This hands-on role requires experience working with DC and AC power systems, solar, energy storage systems, and telecommunication systems as we build innovative solutions for off-grid, telecom, edge compute, and data center energy applications.
Responsibilities- Fabrication & Assembly:
Assemble, wire, and integrate electrical components (battery packs, BMS, inverters, sensors, etc.) according to engineering schematics, work instructions, and quality standards. - Route and secure wiring harnesses, ensuring proper insulation and strain relief.
- Mount and connect circuit boards, controllers, and other electronic modules in electronics cabinets.
- Coordinate with mechanical fabricators.
- Testing & Troubleshooting:
Perform functional and safety tests on completed assemblies using multimeters, battery analysers, and other diagnostic tools. - Identify and resolve wiring issues, component failures, or assembly errors.
- Document test results and report defects to the engineering team.
- Quality Assurance:
Inspect finished assemblies for conformance to specifications and company standards. - Maintain accurate records of assembly and testing activities.
- Safety & Compliance:
Follow all company safety protocols and OSHA regulations. - Adhere to UL, NFPA, NEC and other relevant standards for electrical fabrication and installation.
- Maintenance & Organization:
Maintain tools, equipment, and work area in a clean and organized manner. - Assist with ordering and inventory management of electrical components and supplies.
- High school diploma or equivalent; technical/trade school certification or relevant coursework preferred.
- 2+ years of experience in electrical assembly, wiring, or a related field.
- Telecommunication experience is a plus.
- Proficiency in reading and interpreting electrical schematics and wiring diagrams.
- Familiarity with hand tools, crimpers, soldering irons, and electrical test equipment.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and attention to detail.
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
- Commitment to safety, quality, and continuous improvement.
- Ability to lift and maneuver materials up to 50 lbs.
- Comfortable standing, bending, and working in a hands-on environment for extended periods.
- Periodic field work.
