Overview

Seize a transformative opportunity as an Occupational Therapist in Santa Barbara, California, beginning February 16, 2026. In this role you will empower individuals to reclaim independence after injury, illness, or life-changing events by guiding them through meaningful daily activities, adaptive strategies, and assistive devices. You’ll join a collaborative network that values evidence-based practice, compassionate care, and client-centered outcomes. This contract role offers a clear pathway to deepen your expertise within the occupational therapy specialty while delivering tangible, life-enhancing results.

If you’re drawn to holistic rehabilitation that treats the person—not just the diagnosis—this is your moment to contribute, learn, and thrive. The opportunity is designed to start on 02/16/2026 and unfold over Weeks with room for extension based on impact, performance, and organizational needs.

Santa Barbara’s unique mix of breathtaking coastline, Mediterranean climate, and an active, family-friendly community makes it an ideal backdrop for professional excellence and personal balance. You’ll gain exposure to a range of populations, from adults navigating post-acute rehabilitation to seniors enhancing independence in activities of daily living, and you’ll see how OT supports recovery, function, and quality of life in meaningful ways.

The role offers you a platform to refine standardized assessments, advance evidence-informed interventions, and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to design adaptive strategies that fit real-life living. If relocation or travel is part of your career trajectory, you’ll appreciate structured support that makes transitions smoother while preserving your clinical autonomy and patient focus.

Responsibilities
  • Assess clients’ functional abilities and develop comprehensive treatment plans.
  • Implement interventions aimed at improving mobility, cognition, hand function, endurance, and self-care.
  • Tailor activities to each person’s goals, track progress through measurable outcomes, and adjust plans as progress unfolds.
  • Collaborate with physicians, physical therapists, speech-language pathologists, and educators to ensure a holistic approach to rehabilitation.
  • Opportunities to specialize within the OT spectrum (geriatric rehab, hand therapy, pediatrics, or community reintegration) through mentorship and continuing education reimbursements.
  • Promote proactive problem-solving, creative activity selection, and patient and family education that supports carryover beyond sessions.
Qualifications & What You’ll Need
  • Licensed or eligible to practice Occupational Therapy (as required in California or applicable jurisdiction).
  • Ability to assess and plan treatment across mobility, cognition, hand function, endurance, and self-care.
  • Experience collaborating with multidisciplinary teams and a patient-centered approach.
  • Willingness to relocate or travel with structured support and maintain clinical autonomy.
  • Desire to pursue advanced certifications or specialty credentials aligned with career goals.
Compensation & Term

The package includes a competitive weekly pay range of $2,012–$2,102, with guaranteed hours of 35 per week. The contract term is Weeks, with extension opportunities based on contribution and clinical impact. A sign-on bonus may be available, and housing assistance is offered to eligible travelers to ease relocation or temporary housing burdens. Extensions may reflect clinical efficacy, patient satisfaction, and alignment with program goals.
