Position Title: Theater Production Specialist 2 (006144)
Department: Instructional Development, Academic Affairs Information Technology (AAIT), University of California, Santa Barbara
Location: Kerr Hall – 1128, UCSB Campus
Salary Range: $29.50 to $31.00 /hr (budgeted); $28.88 to $49.76 /hr (full range)
Job SummarySupports university events by providing staffing, audio‑visual, lighting, and computer equipment solutions, coordinating logistics, and supervising student assistants.
Responsibilities- Assist clients with event planning, staffing, and audio‑visual media needs.
- Set up and operate audio, video, computer, projection, and lighting equipment for events.
- Coordinate with Instructional Development/AAIT staff to ensure all event elements are in place.
- Work with network administrators to provide connectivity for events.
- Assist Video Services staff with audio‑visual elements of video production.
- Maintain equipment and coordinate repairs to ensure reliability.
- Supervise, train, and schedule student assistants for event support.
- Confirm event schedules and client requirements with clients and staff.
- Advise on equipment purchases and recommend solutions.
- Associate’s Degree in a related field or 1–3 years of equivalent experience/training.
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to multitask under tight deadlines.
- Track record of high‑level performance in diverse team roles.
- Superior verbal and written communication skills.
- Proficiency in critical thinking and problem solving.
- Professional experience delivering exceptional customer service and relationship management.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
- Experience working under deadlines and pressure.
- Flexible schedule with frequent evenings, nights, weekends, and occasional daytime events.
- Requires satisfactory criminal history background check.
