Accounting Manager

JOB SUMMARY:

The Accounting Manager is responsible for assisting with the functions of Payroll, Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, Income Journal, General Cashiering, Taxes, and Internal Controls. In some instances, they are responsible for the daily operation of specific areas such as Credit Management, F&B Controls, or Accounts Receivable. The role involves making recommendations, suggesting financial control improvements, and reporting SOP and procedural violations.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Prepare, review, and reconcile daily postings, accruals, general ledger accounts, and bank statements to ensure accurate financial information.
  • Compile, prepare, backup, and analyze financial reports and statements to provide timely and accurate information to management and owners.
  • Train, supervise, resolve problems, and participate in hiring, performance reviews, and salary reviews of accounting staff.
  • Analyze period-end data on food and beverage costs and inventories to inform management and assist in cost control procedures.
  • Supervise accounts receivable functions and perform credit/collection duties to ensure efficient service.
  • Review internal control procedures across departments such as Food & Beverage, Cashiering, and Room Operations.
  • Monitor daily ledger details for guest, city, and deposit accounts to ensure proper payments and revenue postings.
  • Ensure accurate balancing of occupancy and sales tax monthly, adhere to tax compliance, and submit exemption paperwork as required.
  • Handle sensitive and confidential information with integrity.
  • Reconcile cash and credit card deposits weekly.

    Education Requirements:

    • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or related field preferred.
    • Experience in the hospitality industry preferred.
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel.
    • Ability to interpret financial reports and legal documents.
    • Effective communication skills for customer inquiries and routine reports.
    • Strong time management skills.
