The Opportunity

The CMM Technician operates, programs, and maintains a specialized Coordinate Measuring Machine to take highly precise measurements of printed circuit boards (PCBs), ensuring they meet exact dimensional specifications and tolerances.

What You ll Do
  • Reads and understands traveler instructions and blueprints for engineering specifications
  • Reads and understands purchase orders, customer technical specifications, drawings, quality clauses and/or any military standards
  • Sets up, programs, and runs CMM and other tools to measure specific PCB features
  • Performs first article inspections according to AS9100 procedures; checks all dimensions and hole diameters called out on the customer drawing(s); verifies all drawing notes and dimensional requirements are met
  • Prints Micro-Vu report for inspected boards for military jobs
  • Interprets measurement data, completes quality reports and reports on non-conforming PCBs
  • Collaborate with quality control and engineering to resolve quality issues and improve processes
  • Performs routine calibration, cleaning, and basic maintenance on CMM equipment
  • Performs all other job tasks as needed
What You ll Bring
  • Strong understanding of GD&T and ability to read and interpret specifications, blueprints and customer drawings
  • Ability to perform mechanical measurements for verification
  • Knowledge of AS9102, First Article Inspection (FAI) and FAI Reports.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office applications (Microsoft Excel and Word)
  • knowledge in the use of mechanical inspection equipment including calipers, micrometers, height gauge, or other mechanical inspection requirement
  • Knowledge of ISO 9001/AS9100 Quality System preferred
  • Familiarity with AS9102 software (i.e.: DISCUS) is preferred
  • Must be able to bubble engineering drawing and complete F.A.I.R.S. to meet AS9102 requirements
  • Ability to work overtime and weekends when needed
Education and Experience
  • High School Diploma or GED required
  • Minimum of 3 years of FAI inspection experience in PCB manufacturing industry (Preferred)
  • Proven experience operating CMMs and using relevant software (Preferred)

California Pay Range: $19 USD - $24 USD

The actual compensation offered is based on a wide array of factors unique to each candidate, including but not limited to skill set, years and depth of experience, certifications, and other relevant business considerations.
