SummaryThe main function of a logistics specialist is to coordinate and expedite the flow of work and materials within or between departments of an establishment according to production schedule. A typical logistics specialist is responsible for reviewing and distributing production, work and shipment schedules and compiling reports on inventory levels, cost, etc. The main function of this position is to ensure smooth collection and validation of data, documents, and invoices via email with logistics colleagues, business partners, internal partners, and customers based on the logistic background or knowledge.
Responsibilities- Examine documents, materials and products, and monitor work processes in order to assess completeness, accuracy and conformation to standards and specifications.
- Review documents such as production schedules, work orders, and staffing tables to determine personnel and materials requirements, and material priorities.
- Record production data, including volume produced, consumption of raw materials, and quality control measures.
- Requisition and maintain inventories of materials and supplies necessary to meet production demands.
- Revise production schedule, when required, due to design changes, labor or material shortages or other interruptions.
- Distribute production schedules and work orders to departments.
- Conduct collection of data and documents to support department’s projects/activities.

- Coordinate and execute special project and ancillary services.
- Work in a continuous improvement spirit across a highly-matrix working environment.
- Complete all other duties as assigned.

- Typically has general knowledge of logistics operations related to employee’s specific area of work, and limited knowledge of overall logistics operations.
- Excellent verbal and written communication. A team player.
- Previous experience with computer applications, such as Microsoft Excel and Word.
- High level of accuracy and efficiency.
- Detail Oriented. Works on problems of limited and routine scope where limited analysis of data requires identification of predetermined solutions.
- The ability to read, interpret, and understand product shipment information from various order and shipping documents to ensure accuracy and thorough preparation of transportation documents.
- Exercises judgment within defined practices and policies in selection of methods and techniques for obtaining solutions.
- Works on problems of limited and routine scope where limited analysis of data requires identification of predetermined solutions.
The typical base pay for this role across the U.S. is: $31.00 - $33.00/hour. Non-exempt positions are eligible for overtime at a rate of 1.5 times the base hourly rate for all hours worked in excess of 40 in a work week, or as required by state or local law.…
