Position: Maintenance Mechanic (Harbor 1 - Softgel)

Maintenance Mechanic (Harbor 1 - Softgel) (Santa Ana, CA)

We are looking for Maintenance Mechanics with experience working on production equipment. This individual must have a working knowledge of troubleshooting mechanical, electrical, and control issues. They are responsible for ensuring all equipment and machines are in good operational condition and will assist management on assigned projects. Must enjoy working in an extremely fast‑paced environment. (We are willing to train the right person if you are mechanically inclined.)

The Maintenance Mechanic I assists the Maintenance Mechanic Lead in a wide range of projects of varying complexity to ensure that production runs smoothly and has minimal downtime. This position troubleshoots, orders parts and replacements, conducts maintenance of machinery, and completes documentation as required for the Maintenance Work Order System, Preventive Maintenance Documentation forms, SOP documentation, and Equipment Log Books.

Responsibilities
  • Perform basic repairs on machinery such as Bochang encapsulation machines, tumbler baskets, gearboxes, pumps, motors, drying baskets, including washing and sterilization.
  • Complete maintenance work orders and perform entry‑level preventive maintenance tasks.
  • Maintain proper maintenance documentation, which is required under cGMPs (e.g., Maintenance Work Order system, Preventive Maintenance Documentation forms, SOP documentation, and the use of Equipment Log Books).
  • Stay up to date on all training related to cGMPs, SOPs, and other training assigned by Maintenance Management.
  • Maintain a toolbox issued by RPI, in addition to other specialized tools provided by the company.
  • Answer emergency call‑backs and be flexible to work weekends, holidays, and during plant shutdown periods as required.
  • Conduct regular maintenance of all machines, including but not limited to checking and/or replacing voltage, fuses, plumbing, air, gas, etc.
  • Learn to troubleshoot minor electrical issues/problems.
  • Perform other projects and duties as assigned by management.
  • May periodically travel from/to other RPI locations.
Qualifications
  • Minimum high school diploma or GED.
  • 1–3 years of work experience in a maintenance or mechanical environment.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills – able to speak clearly and accurately to ensure effective department operations.
  • Must have flexible hours, including holidays or plant shutdown periods.
  • Detail oriented – pays close attention to detail, accuracy, and completeness, double‑checking work.
  • Honesty and integrity – follows company values and provides exceptional quality products.
  • Problem solving – works systematically and logically to resolve problems, identify causation, and anticipate results.
  • Safety minded – follows and demonstrates awareness of all safety policies and procedures.

Pay Structure and Benefits
  • Competitive wages, $22.00‑$26.00 per hour, depending on experience.
