Job SummaryMaintenance Mechanic III independently performs facilities maintenance as well as intermediate repairs and preventive care on industrial electrical, hydraulic, and mechanical systems. They will also troubleshoot, operate, and repair PLC systems.
Responsibilities- Without assistance, perform intermediate preventative maintenance on industrial electrical, hydraulic, mechanical, and pneumatic machines/equipment.
- Operate, troubleshoot, and repair PLC-based systems.
- Move heavy machine parts with the aid of hoists or rollers.
- Participate in Total Quality Management projects to achieve improvements.
- Troubleshoot basic electrical problems (480V 3 phase) on a variety of machinery.
- Complete related paperwork.
- Interpret schematics and diagrams to analyze and troubleshoot problems for products.
- Maintain a clean work area and ensure adherence to process specifications.
- Communicate with plant and company management regarding scheduling and repair status.
- Inspect and check work prior to returning machinery to users, ensuring safety factors are addressed in compliance with applicable safety regulations.
- Participate in maintenance projects to achieve improvements.
- Report equipment or facility defects to supervisor.
- May work different shifts or overtime.
- Support plant quality system goals and productivity goals within the scope of the job.
- Perform other duties as assigned by department management.
- High School diploma or GED and/or combination of vocational school.
- 4 years repairing and/or maintaining hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical industrial equipment or related machinery.
- Meet all requirements for the Maintenance Mechanic I and II positions.
- Able to read circuit diagrams and schematics.
- 2+ years' experience with basic PLC knowledge.
- Certified in Etchline.
- Basic English (reading, writing, verbal and comprehension).
- Ability to communicate with co-workers, supervisor, Safety, and QC personnel.
- Ability to use and operate equipment and machinery.
- Ability to follow specific instructions and directions.
- Intermediate math skills and measuring abilities.
- Intermediate computer skills including specifications and/or blueprint interpretation.
- Machine shop background.
- Knowledge of metal work, fabrication, and abrasives.
- Strong mechanical knowledge.
- Welding with MIG and TIG highly desired.
- Tech or trade school training certificate in related field.
- 6 years related industrial maintenance experience performing repairs and PM on hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical equipment.
- Prior forging equipment repair experience highly desired.
- Electrical 480-V 3 phase experience preferred.
- Experience working on CNC machines and presses is a plus.
- Ability to conceptualize, fabricate, and develop necessary equipment and intricate systems.
- Wear proper Personal Protective Equipment in work area at all times.
- Must be able to operate in a drug-free workplace.
- In compliance with ITAR regulations, must be a US Citizen or US Person.
- English (reading, writing, and verbal comprehension).
- Must be able to work overtime when required to meet operational deadlines.
- Intermediate to Advanced computer skills/mathematics.
