Senior Legal Counsel of Risk Management
Hours

Location: Santa Ana, CA
Pay: $220k-250k

Qualifications:
- 6+ years of legal experience, including at least 2 years in-house or within a risk management function
- Strong background in litigation and insurance procurement
- Experience leading or significantly contributing to risk management operations
- Excellent legal writing, organizational, and communication skills
- Thrives in a fast-paced, collaborative environment
Responsibilities:
- Oversee commercial and general liability matters, including strategy, discovery, depositions, hearings, and outside counsel management
- Lead and maintain the company’s insurance program, including procurement, renewals, and broker relationships
- Advise on claims, liability issues, and risk mitigation strategies
- Analyze loss data and provide recommendations to senior legal leadership
- Support and lead risk management functions, including claims handling and workers’ compensation
- Partner with ownership-level legal teams on litigation, compliance, and exposure management
- Draft and review agreements, policies, and procedures to minimize legal risk
- Oversee internal investigations, compliance efforts, and training initiatives
- Mentor junior legal team members and support cross‑functional business projects
