Legal Counsel - Privacy & Compliance

Our client is seeking a Legal Counsel – Privacy & Compliance to provide strategic legal support on privacy, data, and compliance matters. This role will work closely with the legal department and cross-functional business teams to advise on governance, risk management, and compliance (GRC) initiatives. The Legal Counsel will serve as a trusted advisor, managing complex legal issues, reviewing and negotiating privacy- and technology-related contracts, and ensuring compliance with applicable laws and regulations.

• Provide legal guidance and support on privacy, data, and regulatory compliance matters across various business units.
• Partner with finance, operations, and technology teams to oversee compliance programs, including training, monitoring, and reporting initiatives.
• Monitor, research, and interpret applicable U.S. laws, rules, and regulations to ensure organizational compliance.
• Review, draft, and negotiate internal and third-party agreements related to privacy, data protection, and technology, balancing legal risk with business objectives.
• Collaborate with business teams to implement legal strategies that support executive decision-making.
• Simplify complex legal issues for non-legal stakeholders and serve as a trusted advisor on compliance initiatives.
• Serve as a primary attorney responsible for privacy, governance, and risk management matters.
• Conduct legal research and provide recommendations on regulatory, contractual, and operational issues.
• Perform additional legal duties and special projects as assigned.

• Juris Doctor (JD) or equivalent professional legal degree.
• Certifications such as CIPP/US, PCIP, or similar are preferred but not required.
• 4+ years of legal experience, with at least 1 year of in-house corporate legal experience.
• Experience in privacy, governance, risk management, and compliance (GRC) matters, either in-house or at a law firm.
• Expertise in reviewing and drafting privacy- and technology-related contracts.

• $140,000 - $190,000 Base pay (Based on experience).
