Under minimal direction, the Enterprise Architect will design cloud‑native solutions, deconstruct legacy architecture, and define clear, executable roadmaps to modernize OCFCU’s technology platforms. The role spans core banking, digital banking, lending & payments, data & analytics, and integration platforms, moving OCFCU from tightly coupled legacy systems to modern, scalable, secure, and observable architectures.
Essential Functions- Enterprise & Solution Architecture (Hands‑On)
- Design target‑state architecture for key OCFCU domains such as:
- Core banking & surrounding ecosystem (Symitar, Jack Henry integrations, payments, statements, ancillary services).
- Digital banking channels (online, mobile, APIs, third‑party fintech integrations).
- Lending, onboarding, and back‑office platforms.
- Creates end‑to‑end solution designs: context diagrams, sequence/flow diagrams, APIs, data models, non‑functional requirements, and security patterns.
- Builds reference architecture for:
- Cloud‑native services (Azure/AWS), APIs, and integration layers.
- Event‑driven workflows (member activity, transactions, alerts, service).
- Maintains a living architecture blueprint and application portfolio with current state, target state, and milestone alignments.
- Legacy Decomposition & Modernization: deep‑dives into Symitar customizations, batch jobs, flat‑file/EDI interfaces, on‑prem services, and custom applications; documents current state and defines modernization strategies.
- Prioritizes modernization efforts in partnership with leadership based on member impact, operational risk, and business value.
- Works with delivery teams to execute modernization iteratively, favoring measurable wins over big‑bang cutovers.
- Cloud‑Native & AI/LLM Patterns: designs solutions leveraging Azure/AWS with focus on security, compliance, resiliency, performance, cost optimization, and observability.
- Defines patterns for containerization/serverless, API gateways, integration hubs, and event‑driven architectures.
- Integrates AI/LLM capabilities: intelligent document processing, AI‑powered member support, analytics and decisioning enhancements.
- Collaborates with Info Sec and Risk to ensure AI governance and privacy.
- Embeds with project teams, leading design sessions, code/design reviews, and troubleshooting.
- Builds prototypes demonstrating new patterns and de‑risking integrations.
- Provides guidance on API design, domain modeling, and integration strategies.
- Ensures solutions are ready for handoff: up‑to‑date diagrams, runbooks, support models, SLOs/SLAs, ownership boundaries.
- Collaborates with Ops to confirm monitoring, alerting, backup, and recovery procedures.
- Defines lightweight architecture principles and standards tailored to a credit union environment.
- Participates in architecture/design reviews, maintaining concise documentation for engineers, ops, and auditors.
- Partner with Info Sec, Risk, and Compliance for data protection, business continuity, and incident response.
- Translates complex technical topics into clear, non‑technical language for leadership and risk committees.
- Mentors senior engineers and technical leads to raise architectural maturity.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
- Hybrid‑eligible: requirement of three days pre‑assigned…
