About Expert MRI

Expert MRI is a cutting‑edge medical diagnostics company featuring the region's foremost experts in neck/spine injury and general orthopedic imaging. The physicians and staff are among California's most knowledgeable and experienced at diagnosing orthopedic and traumatic brain imaging. In addition to extensive MRI capabilities, we also use CT and X‑ray to assist in properly diagnosing patients.

Position: CT Technologist (Part‑time)

Our CT Technologist operates computed tomography imaging equipment to produce cross‑sectional images of the patient's body for diagnostic purposes.

Responsibilities
  • Interview patients to explain CT imaging procedures and ensure removal of metal objects that may prevent successful imaging; prevent others from entering the room while the CT machine is scanning.
  • Position patient on the examining table in the correct orientation and close to the area of interest, following protocols requested by the radiologist.
  • Demonstrate use of the microphone that allows patient and technologist to communicate during the examination.
  • Perform phlebotomy as needed to inject contrast media, using both butterfly and angiocath needles, and monitor injection via hand or automated pump.
  • Enter patient history, anatomical area to be scanned, orientation, and entry position (head or feet first) into the computer system.
  • Key commands to specify scan sequences and adjust parameters into the computer.
  • Observe patient through the control‑room window to monitor safety and comfort, communicating regularly to ensure compliance.
  • View images during the scan on the video monitor to ensure acquisition quality.
  • Modify CT sequence parameters as needed to achieve optimal results.
  • Move DICOM datasets to destinations and storage per policy and procedure.
  • Act as a gatekeeper by alerting and controlling access to the CT room, informing entrants of the radiation hazard.
  • Stop scanning or injection immediately if problems arise.
  • Solve problems in real time and, when necessary, escalates for quality and patient safety.
  • Participate in the training of CT students during clinical rotations as needed.
  • Perform X‑ray procedures as needed, following the requirements of the X‑ray Technologist job description.
Education, Certificates & Licenses
  • Associate's degree or equivalent from a two‑year college or technical school; or six months to one year related experience and/or training; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Basic Life Support Certified by the American Heart Association.
  • Registered as a CT technologist by ARRT through passing the registry exam.
  • Hold required licensure by the State of California.
