About the Opportunity
A well-established organization headquartered in Orange County is seeking a Senior Accountant to join a collaborative and detail-driven accounting team. This role plays a key part in ensuring accurate financial reporting, maintaining strong internal controls, and supporting compliance activities in a highly structured reporting environment. This is a temporary opportunity to support the team for at least 4 months with a possible extension.
This position is ideal for an experienced accountant who enjoys ownership of close processes, thrives under deadlines, and likes partnering cross‑functionally to improve financial accuracy and efficiency.
Key Responsibilities- Support monthly, quarterly, and annual close activities, including the preparation and review of journal entries
- Analyze financial results and investigate variances to ensure accuracy and completeness of reported data
- Prepare and maintain balance sheet account reconciliations, resolving discrepancies in a timely manner
- Assist with the preparation of periodic financial reports and required external filings
- Respond to internal and external audit requests, providing documentation and explanations as needed
- Collaborate with business partners across departments to understand data flows and reporting requirements
- Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes, controls, and documentation
- Participate in special projects and other accounting initiatives as assigned
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
- Minimum of 5 years of progressive accounting experience in a corporate or public accounting environment
- Solid knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP); exposure to regulated reporting environments is a plus
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem‑solving skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet tight deadlines in a fast‑paced setting
- Effective written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to work independently and collaboratively
- Experience working with enterprise financial systems and reporting tools
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office applications
