Financial Controller

The Hiring Advisors is partnering with a growing construction company in the Santa Ana area to hire a Controller. The ideal candidate will have experience overseeing accounting operations, implementing policies, and managing a team.

• Oversee accounting for M&A activity, AP/AR, payroll, and month-end close
• Lead the year-end audit process
• Work with other team members to ensure financial reporting is automated
• Ensure cash is managed appropriately with proper internal controls in place
• Identify and implement process improvements to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of the monthly, quarterly, and year-end close processes
• Reconcile and analyze GL accounts and bank statements
• Oversee monthly close process, schedules, journal entries, and reconciliations
• Support the team with key strategic initiatives
• Lead a broad range of ad-hoc projects focused on improving reporting quality
• Assist with the integration of acquisitions into the accounting and financial systems

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related major
• 5+ years of accounting experience
• 2+ years of public accounting experience is a plus
• Proven track record in a service-based industry (construction, engineering, design services, etc.)
• CPA license preferred
• Experience with Sage Intacct
• Strong accounting skills and ability to lead/process improvements
