Overview
This position provides A&P support in a general aviation maintenance environment both independently, and at times, closely with other technicians on assigned work. Our A&P mechanics serve as ambassadors of Elite Aircraft Maintenance by displaying professionalism, attention to detail, and providing expert level customer service and communication.
Responsibilities- Use a computer to record actions, labor, and parts used to accomplish work.
- Safely move aircraft by hand and/or powered tug in close proximity of obstacles.
- Perform engine operational checks, and slow/high speed taxi checks.
- Perform inspections and functional checks in accordance with technical guidance and document findings using written and digital software.
- Initiate parts and material requests required to complete work assigned.
- Maintain a controlled parts inventory system.
- Use printed and digitally stored, current technical data to accomplish all work.
- Maintain all shop equipment and tools in a serviceable working condition.
- Take pride in sustaining a safe and clean working environment for the aircraft maintenance team and flight crew.
- Use appropriate communication methods to help facilitate coordination of efforts between departments, vendors and team members.
- Maintain the preservation of all parts during the work process installation and storage.
- Use office equipment to produce permanent records of maintenance for Log Books.
- Participate in a culture that promotes safety through daily observations, shift briefings, routine audits, safety meetings, training and documented safety procedures. Be well versed in procedures for use in the event of aircraft accidents, fires, or other emergencies.
- Use feedback to constantly develop and improve capabilities and processes.
- Willingness to guide Aircraft Technician Apprentices.
- Maintain compliance with Elite Aircraft Maintenance’s processes and procedures.
- Other duties as assigned.
- 2+ years of General Aviation Maintenance experience (required)
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- A&P License (required)
- Must have a valid driver's license
- Knowledge of FAA Regulations
- Cirrus experience with knowledge of the Continental and Lycoming engines (preferred)
- Possess and maintain an aviation tool kit.
- Must be able to pass required background & security screening, as appropriate
- Knowledge of FARs and FAA policies.
- Exceptional organization skills with a keen attention to detail and accuracy.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Strong investigative, analytical, and problem solving skills
- Self-motivated, conscientious and ability to prioritize multiple tasks
- Ability to interact with professionalism and discretion with clientele.
- Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook), Quantum MX aircraft maintenance software
- Ability and willingness to demonstrate proficiency with tools:
Multimeter, Tensiometer, Differential Compression Tester, Ignition Timing Test Set, Sparkplug Cleaning and Gapping tools, Nitrogen Servicing Gage Set, Gaseous Oxygen Servicing Gage Set, Digital and Mechanical Torque Wrenches, Micrometer, Battery Operated Drills and Screw Guns, Tap & Die Sets, Battery Capacity Tester/Charger and Personal Protective Equipment as related to these tools. - Ability to deliver an exceptional customer experience which is at the core of Elite’s commitment to the Client.
- Must be able to safely perform work on scaffolding and ladders.
- Must be able to stand, lie, and kneel in awkward positions and spaces for varying time durations.
- Must be able to lift, push, and pull objects weighing ranging from 10–50 pounds at a time.
- Must be able to lift and/or move up to 150 pounds cumulative with assistance.
- Manual dexterity and physical strength necessary to operate tools, make adjustments and repairs, including use of hands to handle, control, or feel objects, tools, or controls.
- Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distant vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus.
- Inspection and repair of aircraft requires good visual acuity and eye–hand coordination.
- See differences between colors, shades, and brightness.

- Exposed to loud noise levels, vibrations, test sounds and identify functioning level of aircraft and may require the use of hearing protection.
