Job Description - Imaging Assistant PRN )
ResponsibilitiesAssists imaging staff with a variety of technical and non-technical functions consistent with prior experience or certification. Collaborates with other healthcare providers for patient’s continuum of care. Responsible for the safe transport of Imaging and Cardiovascular patients throughout the hospital. Greets and assists patients, providers and visitors to the imaging department. Assists technical staff in the performance of procedures by transporting and transferring patients, screening patients, and coordinating patient flow, etc.
Performs clerical duties associated with the operation of the department: this includes but is not limited to: answering phones, processing patient orders, distribution of mammography letters, assisting with reporting editing, report and image distribution, and performance improvement reporting. Will be responsible for supply chain duties for imaging including inventory control and stocking of supplies and other duties as assigned.
SCHEDULE:
as needed, day shift
- BLS Certification consistent with Hospital Policy.
- MUST HAVE minimum1 year progressive experience in an Imaging dept with direct patient care contact
or
current NAI, EMT-I, or CMA certification if no prior Imaging patient care experience. - Other Minimum Abilities / Aptitudes
- Basic computer & keyboard skills
- Proficient in medical terminology
- Able to multi-task
- Able to work under stressful situations
- Able to work on smoke-free campus
- Able to understand written instructions, receive and transmit
-information - PREFER Ability to start IV’s and understand issues with patient flow in an imaging environment – consistent with prior experience or certification (Scope of Practice)
