PurposeThe Engineer II provides advanced technical support and application guidance for Zurn Elkay's commercial plumbing products, including flush valves, faucets, and water delivery systems. This role focuses on expanding product expertise, fostering customer and representative relationships, and supporting sustaining and quality engineering to solve internal and external problems.
Essential Job Functions- Produce presentations and product comparisons for sales assistance.
- Present live, virtual, or pre‑recorded product knowledge training to internal employees, customers, sales reps, distributors, and contractors; represent Zurn in the field during installation, troubleshooting, or other post‑sales support.
- Represent Zurn Engineering on site when troubleshooting or assisting in a product installation in the field; coordinate additional support activities and post‑sales technical support with engineering departments.
- Assist in identification of trends in field issues and recommend design or process improvements.
- Determine and communicate product technical strengths/weaknesses vs. competition.
- Assist the NPD team with BETA Testing Process by identifying potential opportunities, obtaining feedback, and monitoring product performance to support the GTMS strategy.
- Travel to customers' installation sites to represent Zurn in the field to observe product installation and field performance.
- BS in Mechanical Engineering or other technical discipline with 3‑5 years of experience, or 4 years of experience in a related area in lieu of a degree.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and hands‑on approach.
- Basic knowledge of plumbing and fixture installation.
- Willingness to learn product application use for commercial and residential buildings.
- Basic knowledge of electronic application for various plumbing products.
- Experience with Microsoft Office Suite (PowerPoint, Excel, Word, Access).
- Team work, presentation, project management, and verbal/written communication skills required.
- ACAD/Inventor computer skills.
- Ability to work effectively at all levels of the organization.
- Ability to drive project‑based actions.
- Customer‑driven sense of urgency.
- Must have ability to lead, train, and drive change.
- Self‑motivated individual able to multi‑task effectively and work in a fast‑paced environment.
- Strong sense of professionalism and situational adaptability.
