Overview

Clean Harbors is seeking an Industrial Lab Technician to join our Sanford, NC family. Responsible for the analysis of samples to determine their chemical and physical properties using physical and chemical techniques. Wage
: $22-24/hr

Responsibilities
  • Perform testing and approve inbound, in-process, and outbound sample analysis.
  • Perform tank analyses to verify product specifications.
  • Operate and perform troubleshooting of laboratory instrumentation.
  • Prepare reagents and standards for use in analyses.
  • Document all test results accurately and maintain detailed records.
  • Perform special assignments to assist in lab and plant operations.
  • Housekeeping and maintaining organized lab environment.
  • Follow all safety protocols and standard operating procedures.
What does it take to work here?
  • 2+ years hands-on QA/QC or materials testing experience from a plant or manufacturing environment - this is our most important qualification.
  • Experience testing materials: incoming raw materials, in-process samples, or finished products.
  • Comfortable working with laboratory equipment such as viscometers, ICP for metals, pour point testers, NOACK apparatus, density meters, flash point testers, scales, meters, and analyzers.
  • Experience troubleshooting equipment and performing routine calibration.
  • Lubricant testing experience is a plus!
  • Experience with In-Process and Final Product analyses is an asset.
  • Bachelor Science Chemistry or Biology preferred, but hands-on materials testing experience is valued over formal education.
  • Excellent written communication skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to understand and follow Laboratory Standard Operating Procedures.
  • Must work well in a team and collaborate with others to complete analytical sequences.
  • Computer skills necessary to input and manipulate data.
  • Must be able to lift up to 50lbs, stoop, bend and climb stairs.
  • Reliable, safety-minded, and quality-focused.
  • Ideal backgrounds include quality control/quality assurance roles, incoming material testing, production/process technician positions, or maintenance technician roles from automotive, food processing, building materials, electronics, textiles, or industrial manufacturing facilities
  • You'll fit right in if you've worked at companies like Caterpillar, Tyson Foods, Pilgrim's Pride, Moen, Pentair, GKN Driveline, Bharat Forge, Lee Brick & Tile, Gildan, Static Control Components, LKQ Remanufacturing, or other Sanford/Lee County area manufacturers.
