Salary & Compensation
Salary will be determined depending on qualifications of candidates who exceed the minimum requirements as outlined within the job description.
Additional compensation based on licensure.
Responsibilities- Skilled work involving installation, maintenance, monitoring, testing, repair, and modification of traffic signals, traffic signal adaptive systems, and communication networks.
- Administrative and technical work coordinating day‑to‑day preventative maintenance program.
- Assists contractors with installation, configuration, and interoperability of signal hardware and equipment.
- Perform functional and performance tests, analyze test results, detect programming errors, and perform corrective action.
- Troubleshoot various video equipment, network equipment and Naztec signal equipment.
- Meet and deal effectively with the maintenance staff.
- Organize and prioritize tasks simultaneously.
- Oversee the work of a team engaged in providing specific services, completing specific projects, or assisting other units.
- Use standard electronic test equipment.
- Learn techniques of traffic signal installation, maintenance, and repair.
- Read and interpret plans, sketches, and blueprints for use in the planning and installation of traffic signals.
- Use or repair small/light equipment such as power tools, medium equipment, and machinery such as vehicles or commercial mowers.
- Troubleshoot signal equipment.
- Lift more than 60 pounds.
- Perceive color, depth, and texture; smell; hear (preferably at above average levels); and speak.
- High School Diploma/GED and five (5) years experience required; a comparable amount of education, training, or experience may be substituted for the minimum qualifications.
- Valid CDL Class B Florida Driver's License.
- Imsa Level I and II certification and Work Zone certification are required.
- Knowledge of traffic operations, theories, and set up practices.
- Ability to present ideas clearly and concisely orally and in writing.
- Ability to use standard electronic test equipment.
- Ability to learn techniques of traffic signal installation, maintenance, and repair.
- Ability to read and interpret plans, sketches, and blueprints for use in the planning and installation of traffic signals.
- Knowledge needed to operate computer application software, such as ATMS.now.
- Knowledge needed to operate more complex and technical computer application software, suchas ATMS.now.
- Ability to operate small office equipment, including copy machines or multi-line telephone systems, computers for data entry, word processing, and/or accounting purposes.
- Ability to use or repair small/light equipment such as power tools, medium equipment, and machinery, such as vehicles or commercial mowers.
- Ability to troubleshoot signal equipment.
- Ability to lift more than 60 pounds.
- Ability to see (perceive color, depth, and texture), smell, hear (preferably at above average levels), and speak.
