Inspector Trainee

Summary

Entry level position learning how to perform and work with fire protection inspections to ensure compliance, field surveys, part listings, and provide field labor support.

• Learn to assist Inspectors while they inspect, test, and maintain fire protection systems in accordance with NFPA codes.
• Develop knowledge of life safety and NFPA codes and standards.
• Develop knowledge of fire sprinkler systems, fire alarm systems, fire suppression systems and their devices, appurtenances, critical components and operations.
• Learn to perform testing and maintenance under direct supervision of an Inspection/Service Technician.
• Under supervision, perform on the job training documentation each week.
• Learn to differentiate between inspection deficiencies and service required to correct found deficiencies.

High school diploma or GED recommended; 0‑1 year of previous mechanical aptitude and installation experience preferred.

Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office, Word, and Excel.

Pre‑employment drug screen, Clean MVR, overtime and weekends may be required.
