Job Description

The Direct Sales Agent Specialist (Direct Auto Insurance, an Allstate Business) is responsible for profitable growth and attainment of business goals by driving new business sales and understanding customers’ needs to build rapport and trust. This position drives sales and builds and retains a book of business within the market/retail location. You will attract and generate new customers and cross‑sell existing customers, supporting product offerings including Auto, Life, Auto Club, and Roadside Assistance.

You will sell to walk‑in customers, market products outside the office via marketing calls and in‑person visits, creating community relationships to promote continued growth and assist customers in the office.

Responsibilities
  • Drive new business sales to walk‑in customers.
  • Build rapport and trust with customers to identify their needs.
  • Generate and cross‑sell products to new and existing customers.
  • Market products outside the office through calls and in‑person visits.
  • Establish community relationships to promote continued growth.
  • Assist customers in the office, managing payments and receipts.
Minimum Qualifications
  • 0–2 years of sales experience.
  • P&C licensing (Preferred) or attainment of required licensure within 90 days of joining.
Preferred Skills and Competencies
  • Successfully closes sales of insurance and ancillary products.
  • Meets and exceeds sales goals through new product sales, cross‑sell, and customer retention.
  • Leverages community contacts to build a sales pipeline and maintain an active physical presence.
  • Initiates outbound calling to an established target customer base for product offerings.
  • Monitors key competitors and makes suggestions to improve the company’s market position.
  • Works with Direct Sales Leadership to plan, implement, and manage marketing and sales processes.
  • Delivers optimal results within metrics such as quality, quantity, timeliness, productivity, customer satisfaction, and financial performance.
  • Understands and stays current on company underwriting guidelines and policy changes.
  • Receives customer payments, issues receipts, and verifies cash drawer reports.
Compensation

Unlicensed Candidates:

  • Base compensation: $17.50 per hour, based on experience and qualifications.

Licensed Candidates (Licensed to sell Auto or Property & Casualty [P&C] Insurance):

  • Base compensation: $20.00 per hour, based on active required license and minimum 6 months of P&C sales experience.

Total compensation may include incentive pay such as commissions and bonuses based on individual and team performance.
