Position Overview
A high-performing acute care hospital in Sanford, FL is seeking a Nurse Manager for Critical Care to lead both the ICU and PCU (31 beds, ~48 FTEs). This leadership role is ideal for an experienced, engaged, and clinically strong ICU nurse leader who thrives in improving patient outcomes, staff performance, and operational excellence.
Responsibilities- Provide 24/7 leadership and accountability for ICU and PCU operations
- Ensure compliance with nursing standards, regulatory requirements, and hospital policies
- Oversee staffing, workflows, equipment, and resource allocation
- Promote interdisciplinary communication for continuity of care and safe patient transitions
- Drive initiatives related to quality, patient safety, patient experience, and service excellence
- Mentor, coach, and develop clinical staff; foster a culture of engagement and teamwork
- Manage budgets, productivity, and departmental performance metrics
- Participate in hospital-wide committees and improvement initiatives
- 3+ years of recent ICU leadership experience (within the last year) in an acute care hospital
- Active RN license (FL or Compact)
- Nursing Diploma or Associate Degree required; BSN strongly preferred
- BLS within 30 days of hire
- NIHSS within 30 days
- ACLS within 6 months
- PALS or ENPC within 6 months
