Responsibilities
The Senior Accounting Clerk, Foundation assists operations while ensuring the accuracy and timeliness of the accounts payable and related financial processes. Provides general administrative and clerical support to the Foundation.
Essential Functions- Assists with timely and accurate full‑cycle accounts payable processing, including invoices, expense reports, and other requests for payments.
- Prepares, tracks, and monitors Positive Pay reports.
- Coordinates and processes donations for fund‑raising activities (e.g., Dream Gala) and prepares related 1099s and other tax forms.
- Prepares bank deposits and related journal entries.
- Enters payroll deductions for College staff and prepares annual employee giving tax acknowledgement statements.
- Enters, tracks, and reports to management on scholarship awards.
- Provides administrative and clerical support, including addressing questions, maintaining inventory of supplies, and providing forms and reports.
- Performs other duties as may be required or assigned.
- Graduation from an accredited high school or possession of an acceptable equivalency diploma.
- Two (2) years of experience in accounting, accounts payable, or finance.
- Associate’s degree from a regionally or nationally accredited institution in accounting, finance, or business‑related field.
- Experience with Financial Edge NXT or similar accounting system.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Ability to work effectively with diverse groups, including faculty, staff, students, donors, vendors, board members, and community members.
- Ability to treat confidential information with sensitivity.
- Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills.
- Strong Microsoft Office skills (Outlook, Excel, Word) and the ability to become proficient with videoconferencing applications, including Teams/Zoom.
- Ability to use good judgment, meet deadlines, organize and maintain financial records and files.
- Ability to learn and become proficient with accounting systems, such as Financial Edge NXT.
