Operations Manager
Compensation: $55,000–$60,000 annually DOE. This is a full‑time, salaried position.
Position SummaryCommunity Action Services and Food Bank (CASFB) is dedicated to fostering self‑reliance for individuals, families, and the community. The Utah County Food Programs Manager oversees CASFB’s food bank and Provo pantry operations, ensuring effective food distribution systems, strong partner relationships, volunteer engagement, and regulatory compliance in alignment with CASFB’s mission. Reporting to the Stabilization Services Director, this management‑level position provides strategic and operational leadership for the Provo warehouse and pantry staff.
The Manager is responsible for program quality, team supervision, grant compliance, inventory system management, and community engagement efforts throughout Utah County. This role ensures that food programs are efficient, dignified, data‑informed, and responsive to community need while supporting agency‑wide goals and strategic priorities.
- Provide direct supervision to Provo food program team members.
- Recruit, hire, train, evaluate, and coach staff in partnership with Human Resources and the Stabilization Services Director.
- Conduct regular team meetings and monthly one‑on‑one supervision meetings.
- Support performance management, accountability, and professional development.
- Foster a collaborative, values‑centered team culture rooted in Care, Hope, Opportunity, Respect, and Equity.
- Oversee all food bank operations to ensure efficiency, safety, and regulatory compliance.
- Ensure adherence to first‑in, first‑out (FIFO) inventory principles and proper product rotation.
- Maintain USDA and food safety standards, cleanliness, and organized facilities.
- Oversee systems for donation receipt, sorting, storage, inventory control, and distribution.
- Ensure accurate record‑keeping including donation logs, disbursement tracking, discard documentation, and required reporting.
Coordinate food drives, pickups, and deliveries in collaboration with warehouse staff and community partners. - Monitor equipment, facilities, and operational workflows to ensure effective and mission‑aligned service delivery.
- Oversee operations and guest experience at the Provo pantry, ensuring dignified, equitable service delivery.
- Develop, strengthen, and maintain relationships with partner and community pantries throughout Utah County.
- Identify opportunities to expand services into underserved areas of Utah County.
- Coordinate Bishop Storehouse orders and ensure inventory alignment across sites.
- Maintain accurate program data, reporting systems, and documentation for all food‑related funding sources.
- Ensure compliance with agency policies, USDA regulations, and funding guidelines.
- Represent Community Action in community councils, coalitions, and coordinating committees as assigned.
- Promote Community Action food programs and services throughout Utah County.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with donors, volunteers, schools, community partners, and stakeholders.
- Support and coordinate community food drives and outreach initiatives.
- Serve as a dependable and professional leader in the fight against poverty and food insecurity.

Qualifications- Demonstrated experience in leadership and staff supervision.
- Experience in food systems, warehouse operations, nonprofit program management, or related field preferred.
- Strong organizational, operational, and problem‑solving skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple programs, deadlines, and priorities effectively.
- Proficiency in MS Office and ability to learn new software systems.
- Ability to lift 40 pounds regularly and support operational needs as necessary.
- Bi‑lingual (Spanish‑speaking) preferred but not required.
- Reliable personal transportation required, current and clean Utah driver license.
- Forklift certification is preferred (or willingness to obtain certification upon hire).
- Bachelor’s degree in social work, nonprofit management, business administration, or related field preferred; equivalent experience considered.
