Job Description Summary

As an Equipment Specialist, you will be responsible for operating and maintaining machines/equipment used in the production of medical devices. Your primary role will be to ensure the efficient and smooth operation of the equipment to meet production targets and maintain product quality. Participates in all team meetings, activities, team building initiatives, and operational excellence activities.

Responsibilities

* Maintain equipment and a clean area by performing tasks such as sweeping, mopping, and wiping down equipment.

* Maintains an open line of communication to ensure all problems/changes are communicated and resolved in a timely manner

* Maintains accurate records as required following good documentation practices (GDP)

* Participate in root cause analysis to identify and resolve issues as needed

* Participate in tier 1 shifts' start-up meetings, 5S, and Kaizen events

* Comply with all local, state, federal, and BD safety regulations, policies, and procedures including RCRA Hazardous waste regulations

* Comply with all local BD quality policies, procedures, and practices through consistent application of sound quality assurance principles.

* Support and maintain a safe working environment including the submission of employee safety observations (ESO)

* Other duties as assigned.

* Ability to get along with people and work in a team environment

* Willingness to rotate into different tasks and responsibilities as needed

* Ability to train other associates as needed

* Ability to identify production issues and clearly communication to support functions

* Willing to work overtime as needed

Education and Experience:

This position requires:

* Required:

High School Diploma/GED or 1-year consecutive work experience.

* 2 years of on the job experience preferred.

Personal Protective Equipment must be worn and may include a hair net, steel toe shoes, safety glasses, and/or ear plugs. This associate may be expected to stand for long periods of time during their shift.
