Job DescriptionDay Shift: 12 hour rotating shift
Job Summary:
As an Equipment Specialist, you will be responsible for operating and maintaining machines/equipment used in the production of medical devices. Your primary role will be to ensure the efficient and smooth operation of the equipment to meet production targets and maintain product quality. Participates in all team meetings, activities, team building initiatives, and operational excellence activities.

- Operates multiple processes on or around high speed automated or semi-automated manufacturing equipment.
- Participates in equipment changeovers or set‑ups.
- Monitors assigned processes to ensure high quality production.
- Responds to machine faults and restores to normal operation.
- Participates in autonomous maintenance to maintain assigned equipment/area.
- Drives to meet or exceed all expected line/zone performance.
- Removes defective product from the automated or semi-automated processes.
- Maintains accurate records and documents as required.
- Continuously improves through the Kaizen Action Sheet (KAS) program.
- Produces high quality products manufactured per task documents.
- Maintains equipment and a clean area by performing tasks such as sweeping, mopping, and wiping down equipment.
- Maintains an open line of communication to ensure all problems/changes are communicated and resolved in a timely manner.
- Participates in root cause analysis to identify and resolve issues as needed.
- Participates in tier 1 shifts' start‑up meetings, 5S, and Kaizen events.
- Supports and maintains a safe working environment including the submission of employee safety observations (ESO).
- Is willing to rotate into different tasks and responsibilities as needed.
- Has the ability to train other associates as needed.
- Can identify production issues and communicate them clearly to support functions.
- Complies with local, state, federal, and BD safety & quality regulations, policies, procedures including RCRA Hazardous Waste regulations, and practices through consistent application of sound quality assurance principles.
Required Qualifications:
- High School Diploma/GED or 1 year consecutive work experience.
Preferred Qualifications:
- 2 years on the job experience.
- Must be able to read & write in written English and communicate in verbal English.
- Effectively work in a team setting and communicate across the department.
- Ability to work on assignments that are semi‑routine in nature with the skill to recognize any deviations from specification.
- Ability to operate independently within the constraints of approved process‑related documentation.
- Ability to analyze/evaluate charts, follow simple diagrams and perform basic arithmetic.
- Basic proficiency with PCs (Personal Computers) and basic use of a Windows environment.
