Senior Product Development Specialist

The Product Development department is looking for a candidate who can demonstrate the WCF values to join their team. This exempt position reports to the VP, Product Development and is open to internal and external candidates.

Location:

Hybrid (office/home) option is available at WCF's Sandy, Utah headquarters or one of the regional offices located in Roseville, CA;
Boise, ; or Denver, CO.

Responsibilities
  • Conduct in-depth market research to identify customer needs, competitor offerings, and emerging trends.
  • Assist in the development and refinement of commercial auto insurance products, including coverage features, eligibility criteria, and underwriting guidelines.
  • Collaborate with actuarial, underwriting, claims, legal, and IT teams to ensure product alignment and successful implementation.
  • Prepare and maintain product documentation, including coverage summaries, policy forms, and regulatory filings.
  • Communicate product changes and enhancements to internal stakeholders and external partners.
  • Support product launches and monitor initial performance to ensure products meet strategic objectives.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert on commercial auto insurance products within the organization.
  • Build and maintain dashboards and tools to track product performance and support decision‑making.
  • Analyze product performance using data that measures sales conversion, retention, and profitability.
  • Use data analysis, benchmarking and other qualitative work, to recommend product improvements.
  • Mentor junior team members and contribute to the development of best practices in product development.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Insurance, Finance, Economics, Actuarial Science, or related fields.
  • At least five years of work experience in commercial lines with at least two years of background in product development and auto insurance.
  • Understanding of auto insurance products, pricing, and regulatory requirements.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Excellent analytical and problem‑solving ability.
  • Strong working knowledge of Excel, SQL, data visualization tools.
  • Proven ability to lead product design initiatives from concept to launch.
  • Successful track record for completion of product development projects.
