A Medical Assistant has accountability for providing care to patients in an ambulatory clinic setting. This will involve caring for patients with acute and chronic needs. The assistant will communicate clearly with patients seeking care through telephone and in‑person interactions. Additional Details:

• Providing patient care:
  Under the direction of the clinician, assist the provider to gather patient visit information.
• Effective communication:
  Communicate clearly with patients via phone and in‑person interactions.
• Team collaboration:
  Work with cross‑functional teams to deliver care, paying attention to detail and follow‑through.
• Physical and cognitive demands:
  Perform manual dexterity tasks, lift and transfer patients, operate monitors, and manipulate equipment with precision.

• Successful completion of a Medical Assistant Program OR one year of Medical Assistant experience OR a current RN/LPN license.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification for healthcare providers, obtained prior to start date.
• Basic computer skills involving word processing and data entry.
• Professional manner and strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively with patients and fellow caregivers to deliver high customer/patient satisfaction.
• Ability to protect privacy, confidentiality, and PHI of patients, members, and caregivers.
• Utah Only:
  If certified with less than one year of MA experience, caregivers may attend a yearlong MA residency program.

• Experience in an outpatient clinic or other healthcare setting.
• Computer literacy in using electronic medical records (EMR) systems and other relevant software.
• Current national MA certification (RMA, NCMA, CCMA, or CMA).

24 scheduled weekly hours. Pay will range from $19.87 to $28.31 per hour, depending on experience.
