The Chief Financial Officer (CFO) will serve as a strategic partner to the CEO and executive leadership team, leading all financial operations for a fast-growing, multi-state multi-brand home services organization operating across HVAC, plumbing, and electrical trades.

Overview

The CFO will oversee financial strategy, capital planning, M&A integration, operational finance, risk management, and scalable systems to support continued expansion across seven distinct branded business units.

This role requires deep experience in multi-location service businesses, strong operational finance capabilities, and a proven track record of scaling organizations through growth, acquisition, and performance optimization.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and execute financial strategy aligned with the organization’s growth and profitability goals.
  • Lead long-term financial planning, scenario modeling, and strategic forecasting
  • Establish KPI frameworks tailored to each brand while maintaining enterprise-level visibility
  • Oversee financial operations across seven branded business units while preserving brand autonomy and performance accountability
  • Standardize reporting structures, dashboards, and performance metrics across all locations
  • Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal tax and regulatory requirements
  • Implement robust cost controls and margin improvement initiatives across service lines (HVAC, plumbing, electrical).
  • Partner with operations leadership to improve field productivity, job costing accuracy, and technician performance metrics
  • Drive gross margin optimization, labor efficiency, and pricing strategy improvements
  • Lead financial due diligence for acquisitions of additional home services businesses.
  • Ensure accurate and timely monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting
  • Establish internal controls and risk management protocols
  • Oversee accounting, payroll, tax compliance, and audit processes
  • Build and lead a high-performing finance and accounting team
  • Promote a culture of accountability, transparency, and data-driven performance

Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance
  • CPA, MBA, or equivalent advanced credential preferred
  • 10+ years of progressive financial leadership experience, including prior CFO or VP of Finance role
  • Experience in multi-location service businesses (home services, construction, trades, field services, or similar).
  • Demonstrated success scaling organizations through rapid growth and/or acquisitions.
  • Proficiency in financial software (Sage, ERP systems, etc.) and Excel modeling
  • Proven leadership and team development skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication
  • Strong experience with budgeting, forecasting, financial modeling, and KPI development
