About The Role
WCF Insurance Company is seeking an Actuarial Analyst to compile and analyze statistics used to calculate insurance risks and premiums. This full‑time, exempt position is part of the Finance Department and reports to the Director of Actuarial Pricing.
What You’ll Do- Analyze data, identify trends, and uncover new data sources.
- Verify data sources.
- Determine liabilities and risks within datasets.
- Use spreadsheets and specialist software to complete data analysis tasks.
- Generate reports based on data analysis findings.
- Clean data and interpret relationships between different datasets.
- Clearly communicate and document methods, activities, and results.
- Assist actuaries with technical analysis and support queries.
- Write reports in a format that non‑specialists can understand.
- Continue passing actuarial exams subject to the company study program.
- Bachelor’s degree in actuarial science, mathematics, statistics, or a related quantitative field.
- Must have passed at least one actuarial exam administered by the CAS or SOA. Additional passed exams preferred.
- At least two years of related work experience, preferred.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Strong computer skills, including substantial experience with relational databases and analytical programming languages such as Python and R.
- Demonstrated interest and experience in AI applications and usage.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, including crisp presentations and status reporting.
- Ensure assignments are completed accurately and on schedule.
- Collaborate effectively with colleagues.
- Maintain progress in acquiring actuarial expertise.

All employees earn 4 weeks of vacation in their first year. The estimated starting salary for this position is $58,600–$73,200, depending on education, certifications, and years of experience.
Internal candidates should have been in their current position for six months, have acceptable job performance, and must notify their current supervisor that they’ve applied.

Working ConditionsThis position is based in our Sandy, Utah office with adequate temperature and lighting control. There are no known hazardous or unpleasant conditions caused by noise, dust, or other environmental factors. There are potentially high‑stress situations that require meeting deadlines. Some travel is required.
