Overview
We are hiring Registered Nurses (RN) to join our dynamic care team at Cape Heritage Rehabilitation & Health Care Center in Sandwich. Up to a $5,000 sign-on bonus is available. Weekly pay ranges from $45 to $51, depending on the shift, with evenings, overnights, and weekends earning differentials. Openings include full-time and part-time on 7a-3p, part-time on 3p-11p, and full-time on 11p-7a with every other weekend.

Responsibilities- As a Registered Nurse, provide direct nursing care to residents and supervise the day-to-day nursing activities performed by nursing assistants to ensure the highest quality care at all times.
- Meet the nursing and rehabilitation needs of each resident.
- Maintain current resident care plans on all residents under care.
- Follow physician’s orders and render/assist with complete nursing care, treatments, dressings, and other physician orders.
- Transcribe physician’s orders promptly and accurately.
- Review patient records daily to assure accuracy and completeness.
- Document comprehensive and complete nursing notes.
- Visit each resident daily to evaluate resident needs.
- Maintain accurate awareness of residents on alert list.
- Document and report any unusual or significant findings; contact the physician when necessary.
- Administer medication according to procedure and maintain safe control of all drugs under responsibility.
- Initiate emergency procedures as necessary and demonstrate correct safety techniques per orientation and training processes.
- Comply with facility Privacy Practices Policies and Procedures and protect residents’ health information.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Director of Nursing and managerial team members.
- Must possess, as a minimum, a Nursing Degree from an accredited school of nursing or college.
- Must be CPR certified.
- Must have a current and active RN license in the state, be in the process of obtaining one, or recently graduated from a Massachusetts nursing program. New graduates welcome!
- Must be able to read, write, speak and understand English.
- Must possess the ability to make independent decisions when warranted.
- Must be able to deal tactfully with personnel, residents, family members, visitors, government agencies/personnel and the public.
- Must be knowledgeable of nursing and medical practices and procedures, and relevant laws, regulations, and guidelines for long-term care.
- Must possess leadership and supervisory ability and be willing to work with professional and non-professional personnel.
- Must be able to plan, organize, develop, implement, and interpret programs, goals, policies, and procedures necessary for quality care.
- Must possess accurate and comprehensive assessment skills and be familiar with drug actions and interactions.
- Must have knowledge of restorative nursing rehabilitation policies and practices.
- Must have patience, tact, cheerful disposition, enthusiasm, and willingness to handle difficult residents; open to new methods and principles in nursing practice.
- Must be able to communicate effectively with appropriate personnel regarding emergencies.
