Overview
Auto-Mechanic — Transdev in Sandusky, Ohio is seeking an experienced A-Level Auto-Mechanic to diagnose, repair, and maintain gasoline engines across various vehicles and equipment. The role focuses on safety, efficiency, and longevity of gasoline-powered assets.
Key Responsibilities- Conduct diagnostic tests to identify issues and determine necessary repairs on gasoline engines.
- Perform routine maintenance to prevent breakdowns and optimize performance.
- Collaborate with team members to ensure efficient and accurate repairs.
- Complete preventative maintenance (PMs), safety inspections, and annual inspections.
- Lead diagnostic tests to identify complex issues and determine comprehensive repair strategies.
- Perform advanced troubleshooting and repair tasks, including overhauling and rebuilding components to required specifications.
- Provide guidance and mentorship to junior technicians.
- Other duties as required.
- 5 years of experience as an Automotive Mechanic.
- ASE certifications required; ASE certification program provided.
- Must be able to work shifts or flexible schedules as needed.
- Subject to a DOT drug testing and physical if applicable. DOT Regulation 49 CFR Part 40 prohibits the use of Schedule I drugs, including cannabis, for any reason.
The essential functions require the ability to:
- Work outside in varying temperatures and conditions.
- Work alone and in remote locations; sit for extended periods and walk long distances on uneven surfaces.
- Push and pull objects up to 50 pounds; lift up to 50 pounds with or without assistance; bend, kneel, or crouch as needed.
- Withstand exposure to dust, vehicle fumes, and noise.
- Vacation: minimum of two weeks
- Sick days: 5 days
- Holidays: 12 days (8 standard, 4 floating)
