What's your day like?As a Maintenance Mechanic at Corso's Garden Center, get ready for an exciting and varied workday! Each day, you'll jump right into action, performing routine inspections and repairs throughout our vibrant greenhouses.
A typical day runs from 7:30 AM to 3:30 PM Monday through Friday, with possible weekend work thrown in to keep our garden center flourishing. You'll also have the chance to collaborate with a great team. You will be maintaining vehicles and machinery such as passenger vehicles and light duty trucks as well as diagnosing, adjusting and repairing small engine mechanics and related equipment.

Duties & Responsibilities:
- Maintain, repair and overhaul small engine mechanics and vehicles.
- Dismantle defective machines for repair using hand tools.
- Reassemble machines and equipment following repair, testing operation and adjusting as necessary.
- Emergency repair of equipment in shop or in field.
- Perform preventative maintenance according to a set schedule.
- Assemble, install, or repair electrical components, greenhouse systems, vents, fans, gas heaters, and irrigation systems
- Diagnose mechanical problems and determine how to correct them, checking blueprints, repair manuals or parts catalogs

- Troubling shooting problems
- Operate cutting torches and welding equipment
- Estimate repair costs and maintain daily record keeping.
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment.
Knowledge and skills required for the position are:
- Performs a range of work in repair and general maintenance of facilities, buildings and equipment.
- 3+ years of equipment maintenance experience
- Mechanical ability and troubleshooting experience
- Critical thinking skills
- Willing to work extended hours as needed and work in inclement weather
- Ability to lift up to 75 pounds frequently
- Must have valid driver's license
- Must have reliable transportation and good attendance
