- Facilitating and assuring the quality of all aspects of elder law services by working with life care planning clients and families.
- Provide care coordination to guide the client and family through facility placement and/or transfer.
- Guide families on advocacy on behalf of the client to facilities and staff.
- Research community resources to ensure all firm information on facilities, resources, and materials is up to date to assist clients engaged in life care planning.
- Work closely with marketing staff to provide guidance and assistance with the promotion of the law firm and its affiliated services throughout the service area, including but not limited to presenting seminars, engagements, speaking at events, and relationship building with existing and potential referral sources.
- Represent the law firm to facilities and the health care community by visiting regularly, creating positive relationships with management and staff, and attending networking meetings.
- Attend appointments with the attorneys and long-term care planners to interact with clients and referral sources during appointments.
- Work to make client satisfaction a top priority, finding quick resolution to client complaints and concerns under the guidance of the legal team.
- Maintain confidentiality of all client and personnel information in accordance with Brumbaugh policies.
- Alerting the Executive Director or Partners to potential threats to the success of the firm.
- Perform any other duties assigned by the supervisor.
- Assist with the Medicaid application process, including gathering, organizing, and analyzing data for Medicaid compliance.
Supervisory Responsibilities: This position does not have any supervisory responsibilities.

- A knack for easily building rapport with families- all ages, all dynamics, etc.
- Creative problem-solving skills.
- Professional demeanor and written and verbal communication.
- Proficiency with multiple PC applications: MS Office, and the ability to learn our case management system.
- High follow-through and well organized, with the ability to adapt to change, changing circumstances, and shifting priorities.
- Initiative and desire to help us grow our elder care navigation practice.
- Results-focused with a high level of accountability.
- Ability to follow guidelines and systems.
- Patience! Yes, it is a virtue here too, especially with client families who can be overwhelmed and likely haven t been through this process before.
- Good Humor. There s nothing like a laugh to cut through the tension and worry. While we are not looking for comedians, we are looking for someone who is able to find and bring a little sunshine to the day.
Education/Experience - "What do you need?"
- Bachelor s degree in social work or equivalent, license is NOT required
- A minimum of 2 years’ experience working directly with individuals in the healthcare, legal, or counseling fields.
- Read, write, speak, and understand English.
- Extra consideration will be given to someone with Elder Care experience.
Compensation: $40,000-$55,000 yearly
