Function Nursing Facility Position Registered Nurse | Renal Experienced | 6 months FTC Introduction
A vacancy exists for a Registered Nurse Renal Experienced (6 months FTC), based at Life Fourways Hospital
, reporting to the Unit Manager
. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing holistic and optimal quality nursing care to renal patients in order to maximize a positive outcome for the customer in line with Company & Hospital strategic objectives.
Critical Outputs
Ensure professional, ethical practice in the unit
Provide and supervise nursing care in accordance with legislation that directly and indirectly governs nursing practicesProvide and supervise nursing care in accordance with ethical codes that directly and indirectly guide nursingAccept accountability and responsibility for own professional actionsEnsure the provision of competent, clinical nursing care in the unit
Use scientific processes of nursing to initiate and manage comprehensive nursing care plans that will ensure quality nursing careCoordinate and supervise nursing activities of members of the healthcare team who provide basic careCustomer Satisfaction:
Enhance patient satisfaction
Utilise available management tools and strategies to enhance patient experience through continuing quality improvement initiatives CFS and QEAssist in management of patient complaintsBuild professional relationships with the members of the multi-disciplinary team
Cooperate fully with the members of the multi-disciplinary team and independently delivering nursing careAssist in the management of complaints from members of the multi-disciplinary teamSafe Environment:
Assist in maintaining an environment which is both emotionally and physically safe
Utilise available management tools and participate in proactive management strategies to ensure an emotionally and physically safe patient environment SHEQ and infection controlBusiness efficiency:
Contribute to business efficiency through cost effective patient care, interdepartmental cooperation and economic use of all resources
Utilise and supervise adherence to interdepartmental requirements with regard to stock management, case management and billingCoaching and mentoring staff
Assist in the performance management of the unit staffAssist in staff development through the provision of appropriate on the job in-service educationParticipate in staff recognition and reward management strategiesRequirements
Relevant Degree or Diploma in NursingNursing Experience in a Renal UnitCurrent registration with SANCRelevant experience and technical skills to meet critical outputsMust be willing to fulfil a role in the unit according to the shifts (both day and night), flexi hours and assist with call systemComputer literacy would be an advantageUnderstanding of the private healthcare industry, its challenges and role players would be an advantageCompetencies
