Our client, a globally recognised leader in banking, finance, and corporate law, is seeking an Associate to join their dynamic Banking & Finance Practice Group in Sandton. This opportunity offers exposure to complex cross-border transactions, blue-chip clients, and market-leading legal professionals.

Key Responsibilities

• Draft and review loan agreements, security documents, and financial contracts.
• Support Partners and Senior Associates on local and international finance transactions.
• Conduct legal research and provide advice on banking, finance, and financial services legislation.
• Engage with borrower and lender clients, as well as foreign counsel, across multiple jurisdictions.
• Assist with transaction management, due diligence, and regulatory compliance matters.
• Contribute to business development initiatives and client relationship management.

Requirements

• LLB / BCom LLB / LLM (postgraduate qualification advantageous).
• Admitted Attorney of the High Court of South Africa.
• 1–3 years’ post-admission experience in banking, finance, or corporate commercial law.
• Strong understanding of financial sector regulations and contract law.
• Excellent drafting, analytical, and negotiation skills.
• Ability to manage multiple work streams and meet tight deadlines.
• Team-oriented, detail-focused, and eager to grow within a high-performance environment.
