SAP VAT Team Lead

Job Description

We are looking for a consultant who would be responsible for designing, implementing, and managing Value‑Added Tax (VAT) and indirect tax solutions within SAP environments — primarily SAP S/4

HANA and ECC. This role ensures that tax determination, reporting, and compliance processes are accurately configured, automated, and aligned with global and local tax regulations.

• Strong hands‑on experience in SAP FI, SD, and MM tax determination, pricing conditions, and tax procedure configuration.
• Proven experience leading SAP VAT design and rollout across multiple regions or countries.
• Deep understanding of VAT legislation, compliance, and reporting requirements (especially in EU, UK, Middle East, or Africa, depending on geography).
• Experience integrating SAP with third‑party tax engines (e.g., Vertex, ONESOURCE, Avalara).
• Familiarity with SAP S/4
  
  HANA tax configuration, including Business Partner, BRF+, and Advanced Compliance Reporting.
• Experience in cross‑border transaction taxation, reverse charge, and intra/intercompany VAT flows.
• Proven track record leading teams and large‑scale SAP finance or tax transformation projects.

10+ years of SAP Finance (FI) experience with 5+ years specializing in VAT / Indirect Tax configuration.

• SAP Certified Application Associate – SAP S/4
  
  HANA for Financial Accounting (FI) – required.
• SAP S/4
  
  HANA Advanced Compliance Reporting (ACR) or Indirect Tax configuration certification – advantageous.
• Professional tax qualification (e.g., Chartered Tax Advisor (CTA), CA, CPA, or equivalent) – highly preferred.
• Project Management certification (SAP Activate, PMP, PRINCE2) – advantageous.
