Job Description
Job Summary: We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Heavy Equipment Mechanic to join our team. The ideal candidate will have experience in diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining a wide range of heavy machinery and equipment used in construction, mining, and other industrial applications. This role is essential to ensure the safe, efficient, and optimal performance of all equipment and machinery on-site.
Key Responsibilities- Perform routine maintenance and repairs on heavy equipment such as bulldozers, excavators, cranes, backhoes, and loaders.
- Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues and make necessary repairs.
- Conduct inspections and diagnostics on equipment to identify potential issues or areas of concern.
- Repair and replace defective parts, including engines, transmissions, and other components.
- Keep accurate records of maintenance and repairs performed, including parts used and time spent.
- Ensure all equipment meets safety and operational standards before use.
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment, following all safety protocols and procedures.
- Work closely with other team members to ensure timely completion of repairs and prevent delays in operations.
- Maintain inventory of tools, equipment, and replacement parts to minimize downtime.
- Proven experience as a Heavy Equipment Mechanic or similar role.
- Strong knowledge of heavy machinery, engines, hydraulics, and electrical systems.
- Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, schematics, and blueprints.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Proficiency in using diagnostic tools and equipment.
- Ability to work independently or as part of a team.
- Valid driver’s license; CDL preferred.
- Certification in diesel mechanics or related field is a plus.
- Ability to lift heavy objects and work in various weather conditions.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to lift heavy objects up to [weight].
- Must be able to bend, stoop, and climb to access machinery parts.
- Comfortable working in all weather conditions.
- This position requires working in both outdoor and indoor environments.
- May involve exposure to hazardous materials and loud noise levels.
