Facilities​/Fleet Division Supervisor

Job Summary

Supervises and coordinates activities of workers engaged in maintaining and repairing electrical, plumbing, mechanical, and physical structures of buildings, grounds, and equipment in addition to managing and coordinating the activities of workers engaged in maintaining and ensuring service of fleet motor pool.

• Develops, recommends, and monitors annual operating budget for the departments.
• Directs both employed and contracted workers engaged in painting and performing structural repairs to City structures and the grounds.
• Directs workers engaged in the general upkeep of buildings.
• Directs workers assisting other departments as requested, including moving furniture and unloading and storing supplies.
• Oversees all construction, repair, turf care, tree and shrub maintenance, trail maintenance, welding, watering, other grounds maintenance needs, and mowing not performed by outside contractors.
• Coordinates necessary building, equipment, and grounds repair and maintenance not performed by City employees.
• Inspects completed work for conformance to blueprints, specifications, and standards.
• Studies production schedules and estimates work hour requirements for completion of job assignments.
• Plans, prioritizes schedules and evaluates the overall effectiveness of operational needs, methods, and projects.
• Maintains fleet and ensures equipment is properly maintained; recommends replacement or repair as needed.
• Acts as a working supervisor and performs the duties described within alongside departmental personnel.
• Performs other duties as assigned, including assisting other departments as required.

• Education or training as follows:
  • Bachelor’s degree in related field.
  • Equivalent combination of education and experience in lieu of Bachelor’s degree.
• Valid Class “D” Oklahoma Driver license.
• 2 years of experience in building maintenance, plumbing, or carpentry.
• Knowledge of relevant city, state, and federal laws, regulations, and policies.
• Knowledge of hazards and safety regulations in building maintenance and management.
• Knowledge of the tools and techniques used in building maintenance and management.
• Knowledge of modern office practices, procedures, and equipment.
• Knowledge of general contractor work practices.
• Knowledge of industry estimating and pricing practices.
• Knowledge of general building codes, OSHA regulations, and ADA building standards.
• Skill to read and understand building plans, manufacturer specifications, warranties, work orders, blueprints, diagrams, plans, specifications, and equipment and part markings.
• Skill to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Skill in management of personnel.
• Skill in oral and written communication.
