Sand Springs Public Schools is seeking enthusiastic and reliable individuals to provide essential instructional support in the absence of our regular classroom teachers. As a Substitute Teacher, you'll play a vital role in maintaining a positive and productive learning environment, ensuring students continue to thrive academically and socially.
Applications will not be completed until references are submitted.
Applications for substitutes will not be processed until an applicant has submitted their background check and the district background check receipt
is returned.
The district has the right to terminate any employee if the district's background check is deemed unacceptable.
District background checks will not be shared with other districts.
What You'll Do:
Inspire and Engage: Implement pre-planned lessons and activities with energy and creativity, fostering a stimulating and supportive classroom atmosphere.
Facilitate Learning: Guide students through daily assignments, answer questions, and provide assistance to ensure comprehension and progress.
Maintain Continuity: Uphold classroom routines and school policies, contributing to a stable and predictable learning environment for students.
Manage with Care: Cultivate a respectful and inclusive classroom, employing positive behavior management techniques to encourage student cooperation and focus.
Collaborate and Communicate:
Effectively communicate with school staff regarding student progress, classroom observations, and any pertinent information.
Be a Positive Role Model: Demonstrate professionalism, enthusiasm, and a genuine commitment to student success.

Qualifications:
For Certified Candidates: Valid state teaching license/certification (please specify relevant subject areas if applicable).
For non-certified candidates, a high school diploma or GED is required. Some college coursework preferred. Prior experience working with children or in an educational setting is a plus.
Certified and Non-Certified Candidates:
Successful completion of a background check and fingerprinting (paid for by the applicant).
Certified
- Hourly Pay $100.00 daily
Non-Certified
- Hourly Pay $80.00 daily
Support Employee
- Hourly Pay $10.00 hourly (varies 7 to 7.5 hours daily, per position)

Qualifications
- Language, Math, and Reasoning
- Language Skills
- Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos
- Ability to write simple correspondence
- Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization
- Math Skills
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals
- Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent, and to draw and interpret bar graphs
- Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but involved written or oral instructions
- Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations
- High school diploma or General Educational Degree (GED)
- Excellent skills in Microsoft Windows and/or Google Docs
