As a Meat Clerk at Sprouts Farmers Market, you will be working in one of the most popular departments in our store. You are responsible for providing a high level of customer service, practicing safe food handling procedures, and maintaining a high level of product knowledge and preparation techniques. You will:

• Receive, store, and grind meats; unload and transport fresh, cured, and boxed meats and poultry from delivery trucks
• Count and weigh incoming articles and compare results against an invoice
• Examine meats in storage and rotate meats to avoid aging
• Provide prompt and friendly customer service; assist customers with questions, special orders, and needs
• Maintain a positive, customer-focused work environment
• Be familiar with weekly ad items and direct customers to product locations
• Follow the department’s procedures, including the "Clean as You Go" and "Fresh at 4" programs
• Thrive in a fast-paced environment and communicate effectively with the team

• To be a Meat Clerk at Sprouts Farmers Market you must be at least 18 years of age, have a high school diploma or equivalent, and have a basic knowledge of math, weights, and measures
• Be dependable and reliable and perform other related duties as assigned
• Have an outgoing and friendly demeanor, a positive attitude, and the ability to interact with customers
• Ability to work a flexible schedule that includes nights, weekends, and holidays
• Good communication skills and the ability to take direction and work in a team
• General housekeeping in the department: clean and sanitize work areas (including tables, floors, walls, cases, coolers, freezers, etc.)
• Adhere to all safety, health, weights and measures regulations, and company recipes
• Ability to stand for up to 4 hours continuously and up to 8 hours per shift; may walk up to 2 miles per 8 hours
• Work in a temperature-controlled area and maintain department cleanliness
• Good vision for using knives and other equipment (knife, band saw, grinder, sausage maker, box cutter, wrapping machine, tenderizer)
• Ability to lift/carry products 25–90 lbs between 4" and 60" for up to 10 feet
• Ability to move pallets and equipment with appropriate lifting and moving constraints

The pay range for this position is $17.70 – $23.88 per hour. Sprouts Farmers Market determines pay based on applicable experience and qualifications of the applicant.
